Thanks Guys for all the nice comments...Gabe the Birds are not bothered by the heat that much . On the doors are peg board and there is one inch holes along the top in the back and sides of the kit boxes.

compared to what other guys have out here I think there is plenty of air circulation in the Box .

The Birds do drink more water during the summer months but other wise they are fine.

Wonderful set-up George. Just marvelous!

After looking closely at your family of birds I was thinking to myself that some of them looks quite similar (in body type and plumage color) to my rolling pigeons.

QUESTION: What family (line) of birds are you working with?
I have Plona, Reed and a bit of that #514 here at Deep Spin Lofts to enhance the velocity of the spin.

{P.S.} How can I get my hands on one of those yellow Roller Zone signs?

George...

Aren't Jaconettes and Reeds very close in genetic lineage?

That's what I hear.

Can you please explain the relationship if you know the details between the Jac's and the Reed families?

I have a video that is over 20 years old and In the video Norm Reed is asked what his birds bloodline is Jaconettes and he says "Yes" then approximatley 10 seconds later he says there " REED Birds' and the interviewer says " OHHH" .

so you would have to ask Norm himself, but I was talking to a freind that has had rollers for many years in Los Angeles and he said that the Reed, Higgins,Johnny Smith, Abel Ibarra, Burro Hernandez, Steve Russell , Kieth london,Robert Parker,Ron Duncun, Willie Wright, Roy Terjern, Birds are all Jacconette based birds.

now that is not to say that they did not add something else to the line , but they all originated from the Richard Jaconette line of Birds.

marcus the video also interviews Mike Curtis, and Reggie Stewart and Others.

I am sure I am not the only one that has seen this video or poses the only Copy floating around.

I am sure others have seen it and may even have it in thier possesion.

Hey George,

Nice set up.

By the way, I have a bunch of Keith London's best and they are not all Norm base. They have some Higgins and Reed and Jerry bred from other families not just Reed to make his family of birds. Anyway I'm sure Keith will let you know how his birds are made.

For the most part most birds always go back to an older breeder but it is how a breeder breeds them that make them their family of birds. I'm sure if you ask Jerry H, Abel, Keith and the rest of those guys and they would say they breed their own family of birds...

Also I believe Jaconette got the famous Rusty cock from Richard Espinoza.

Anyways, Hopefully I'll go and check out your great set up and check out some birds fly when I'm out in Vegas.

Efren you are right all those guys including K.London probably mixed in a few different Birds here and there . I would not know only the Breeders themselves would know.

The way it's stated as if Keith main family of birds are Reed and he only added a few birds. It's the other way around he only added a few of the Reed birds to his program.

My birds are my SMOKE birds at the base and I added the Norm Reed blood via Jerry Higgins. Those birds enhanced my existing line, which is now my own family.

George, Smoke was an actual bird. She was bred by Sanford Johnson Sr. She was bred from a Frank Lavin cock bird and a hen bred by the late Doug Brown from a 119 Norwood cock and a Fullhouse hen from A. Jackson. I got Smoke and her mother and developed my family. At that time all I had was Smoke, Norwood, Leymeyer, and Red headed Hen birds, oh and plenty of 1220 birds Eddie Scott, Kevin Adams of Inglewood, Jerry Higgins, and Ravon Hall. I had the Smoke birds since 1991 and I did not add the Higgins/Reed birds until 2001. I kept the smoke birds and a touch of the old 1220 line from higgins and added the new higgins blood in 2001 and that is what I have now.

So you mean you don't have mainly Jaconette and just added a few different birds here and there? LOL, it's funny how people who don't have your birds or never been in your loft know so much more about your birds than you...lol

Come on Keith get your info straight!LOL

Keith

so are all the Birds you fly a mixture of these lines ?

what color was the smoke Bird ?

what % would you say that your line has of Higgins in them ?

Keith then maybe the correct thing to say would have been that Your family of birds was already established and you just added some birds who came from the Reed and Higgins family of Birds.
