my birds have a touch of Norwood, and old Higgins/1220, the smoke birds, and the Higgins/Reed.

Smoke was a blue chk w/f pearl eyed hen IPB-90-RD-747.

MY birds are 25% - 50% Higgins crossed with smoke. Smoke is at the base of all of my birds except the LJ7 line, which is Norwood-Jaconette-Leymeyer. I only have a few of these at the moment.

Unlike others I already had an established line before I brought in the Higgins/Reed birds. Some just change line completly as if they never had a spinner or maybe they did not know how to fuse the 2 lines together successfully. Even though the smoke birds were frequent with speed, they could not compete with the birds that being bred (Higgins/Reed) alone. The Higgins/Reed birds gave my existing family a boost in the right direction. They set up good for the breaks, fly low, have good depth, and good style. The smoke birds kit better (tighter) and have better homing instinct. So basicly I got all my pieces together and made my own puzzle and it's working out fine for me even though it took me a while to get here, but I'm satisfied right and still trying to get better.

You know its nice to see the love for the birds displayed through your great set up.

The yellow is spinning short 5 ft he was bred by my nephew Deadendkid,

I would think you would need a dilute or reccesive Red to breed to make more yellows..
