WTF, i can't believe what happened last night. put up my A team around 5:30, and for some reason all but 6 landed and trapped for the night. the others kept circling till it got so dark they couldn't land! i set lights out, but it was too late. i really wasn't worried, as they seemed like they were trying to land, but just couldn't deal with the fading light. those that didn't land, must have landed close by in trees are whatever. they all were sitting in the kitbox when i got home today, but it was just so weird i wanted to hear if others experienced this.

many times
they can be trained to fly any time of night if there is enough light to land by--very scared to land at first but will learn as though it were daylight. Flew some culls regularly at night just for fun. There probably are extra risks.

I had birds thunk down on the roof well into the night and trap in. No training to fly night, They can see at night. I was just in atlanta and the city birds were flying down the street at midnight. And hanging out on the awnings of the city buildings flying back and forth with the night life. I was impressed. Of course there is plenty of light in the street.

I think tippler fliers are used to that. At least it is expected for those birds. Obviously by the time the birds finished flying they probably lost about 2 ounces of body weight after flying for more than half a day!
