I hesitate to post this, but I want to nip some things before they get out of hand.

RPDC forum is about sharing information and encouraging others to raise and enjoy Birmingham Rollers. Behind every forum there are real live people, good, bad or indifferent. There are a few with hidden agendas (or not so hidden).

Most forum readers and participants are good honest people. But in every group, there are those who want to undermine the work of others. Because of my past experience as a business owner, being employed as an operations manager, being in a position of having to hire and fire employees, I have learned a thing or two about people.

When there is an individual that has a spirit to undermine the intentions and goals of a leader, business entity or a project, they can really begin to stick out like a sore thumb, cause trouble and drag everything down.

Be it known, that I am going to protect RPDC from such individuals who would have hidden agendas to undermine our efforts here, especially against those using my own site to do it! I am of the opinion that I am going up against a certain small group of self-appointed “movers and shakers” who before the advent of the Internet considered themselves the judge and jury of all things rollers.

Not everyone will agree or understand my actions, but, just to be clear, I believe there are a very few individuals with “pull”, who would like to see RPDC go down and I feel strongly that they do spread negativity about me, my birds or RPDC in general.

Can I prove any of this? A bit can be proven (we have our feelers out there), the rest is just a learned eye watching the landscape and seeing the gathering forces of opposition.

To those of you who support this site and offer words of encouragement and participate with the best intentions, I offer a big THANK YOU!!!

Tony,

This is your site, and your business.

You certainly do not have to put up with any BS from anyone.

If there are some here that do not play well with others, just advise them to pick up their marbles and move on.

This is your show, and you alone are the one in charge.

Back stabbing is verboten...

I have alot of respect for you Tony. I dont always agree with you but I dont disagree with you very often either. You birds have been a good foundation for alot of guys on this list and I wish them and you all the best of luck with them. Are they the birds for me? I Dont know and that is because I have an established family to work with that has been sucessful for me. Had I been starting out I would possibly give them a try. Like I said many on this list are having sucess with them That alone should speak volumes for them. Joe

Sometimes you have to read between the lines. I can see why Tony was more critical of Dave. I did agree with Dave but he should know by now not to talk against the Ruby rollers or Tony. I KNOW HE DID NOT TALK DIRT ON ROLLERS BUT WAS TALKING ABOUT THE FLIERS AND TRAINERS. But Tony has his own agenda also.

We can be called brown noses at another site but the fact is Tony is entitled to do what he wants with his site and Censor it the best way to his knowlege.

I had suspected a year ago that the guy who came on here ( a new guy with only 1 or 2 posts ) and was giving Tony all heck about his birds was actually Dave Sabature under another name. Tony kicked the new guy off.

I wish we could just let a post run its course but, We do have to be respectable to Tony and the way he feels about the posts.

I happen to like Dave, he's energetic like Paul Fullerton and loves rollers but not all of us have to walk on eggshells around here, just the ones that ought to know it. LOL!

Its getting late and I finished my beer, good night! Bill C

Hey Bill, let me explain myself some. I do have an agenda, to protect me and what I do from slime. Maybe not everyone will agree with how I go about it, but I am going to respond. PERIOD

I don't have a problem with an individual who actually owned, bred, flew and properly managed a representative sample of Ruby Rollers discussing whatever shortcomings he experienced. I would be dismayed though if I did not hear from them during the process as I am happy to talk with anyone about the Rubys and offer help.

My problem (or agenda) is with those with no experience, put them down more due to a personal agenda (anger at me for booting them from RPDC, envy at my sales, my view that one does not need to fly comp to breed quality roller pigeons, or heck, just fill in the blank).

2010 is our 7th year in business. We have had our ups and downs, modest successes and with this recession, some obligations we are struggling to meet.

Without trying to overstate it, it can be tough trying to survive in times like these. What pulls us through is our passion for the Birmingham Roller and the support of good roller men and women. Thanks Bill, cause I know you are one of the good ones!

Tony, I know that the Birmingham Rubys are your career, and I wish you and Joni all the best of luck with continueous success. I also believe that you are very passionate about them. You should also know, and feel pride that your work through RPDC has promoted the Birmingham Roller tremendously. I have always been a racing man, but have a soft spot for these amazing performers. Before I found your site I had no idea of the competitions and complexities of this hobby/sport. I would love to get a couple of your birds, if it wasn,t for the border hassle. It sure is good to hear positive things about your strain, after all you,ve done to promote this breed of pigeon. Thanks again for the site. Glen.

Tony,
I have a question,
Did you ever concider breeding a few other familys, for examlpe like Reed or what ever, and sell them for Reed or what ever,I think you would open up you market wide ope.
Im not trying to direspect you,but you can really do good by haveing a few strains people can choose from.like with me I have the Bob Scotts,Reeds and a few other, people can pick what they are in the need for.
Just a thought,i think you can real expand if you invested in a few other familys and so;d them that way,I dont know im just throing Ideas.
Good luck.

I love this site Tony. I think you do a great job. There are a few people that come on this site just to start trouble and argue about everything. For the most part there are a bunch of good guys talking and spreading info about our sport. I can tell you this for sure , that you lost a few people for awhile when the political posts were getting out of hand. I'm very glad to see that go away.

I myself have some pairs of Ruby's I am breeding from. I like what I have seen from them. I have birds from Richard Apodaca and Fred Jenkins also. I plan on expanding my Ruby program during this year. My Ruby 08-088 cock seems to be a great producer so far.

Thank you Tony and keep up the good work. You have more people behind you than you know.

Hey Hector, yeah, when funds are real tight, I have to admit, the thought crosses my mind. But then, I know I only have a love and passion for the Ruby Rollers. I can look anyone in the eye and know they are truly getting well bred stock that is the result of MY hard work and sweat equity, this is something that I am very proud of.

However, from time to time, I do not mind brokering birds for guys I know and trust and charge a broker fee, I have already done so for Bill Roy (have sold around 40 or 50 birds for him??). Perhaps each quarter, we could have a "clearance sale" and I can broker the sales for reputable breeders. If anyone has had their own line or strain for 7 years or more, perhaps you should contact me and discuss doing something like this. Could be fun...???

Thanks for the suggestions!

Hey Dave, Thank You for your encouraging words also! It is great to hear that there are others who support what we do here...and yeah, that political stuff is very interesting to me and many others but it gets so dang heated. I am my own worst violator at times. I remember once I banned myself for 10 days for violating posting policy. That was real hard to stay off for that long. I'm glad to here those who left over politics threads have come back or have started to.

Glad that breeder cock is working out for you. Did you get that 088 cock from Russ? If you need a pedigree for him or any others, let me know, I will be happy to have Joni print them out and mail to you. Thanks again Dave.

Sounds good! Brian scored real well last year in the Fall Fly with Rubys, I think he qualified for the finals or barely missed. I forget. BTW, if you ever want to talk about the Rubys as far as flying, training, things like that, let me know and I will be happy to help out.

Making a living selling rollers can be a difficult enterprise and has put a target on the backs of most men who attempt to do so...whether they deserve it or not....whether they compete or not......and whether they make claims that they deserve or not. Your contribution to the sport is known and appreciated by many, Tony. I wouldn't worry about those who legitimatley attempt to disrespect you. But with all due respect, I don't think that was the intention in this case, after seeing what it was about....

Hey Tony,I havent put my Crest to the Bob Scotts,i have hard enough time keeping the crest family from rolling down after a few months of hard spinning.
The Bob Scotts would surly make them harder to handle,,
I did try it about 4 years ago and they where all rolldowns..
