I spoke with Bobby Wilson for a while on the phone the other day and he suggested flying my birds twice a day. I tried today for the first time with great results, my kit almost seemed more energized this afternoon. I was just curious if anyone else fly's twice a day and maybe a little outlook on how you prepare your kit?

Twice a day for young birds is standard for mine. The only time I ease up is in the hottest part of the summer. Once they come into the roll, I cut back to every other day. The only concession for flying twice a day would be in how I feed. Pigeons naturally feed twice a day, so I feed twice a day. One half after the morning fly and the other half in the evening. I make a judgement call on the evening fly by their condition. They are still just babies after all.

i've also flown twice a day, but just on weekends. however, this was for young birds, and i think as long as they're getting all they can eat, its no problem. like Thom said, once they come into the roll, flying every other day will keep them from getting too burned out.

I fly twice a day under clear skies or until 6 to 7 mounts old and into the roll then it is up to there performance i keep a cull / foster kit to add young to through rounds .Dennis

It's also standard for me to fly young birds from 2-3 times a day if possible. Ones they are in to the roll solid I fly them 3 times a week for mature birds that are 6 months or older.
