Hi I live in Sacramento and the hawks will usually leave around around the middle of March. That is the time I will have a new kit to train. Sometimes they will leave sooner or later but I have noticed By late March it is mostly hawk free. Now the other reason is by March and April wild birds will be haveing youngsters leaving the nest and so they are easy prey. Ever have a young Robin fall out of a tree and try and put it back into the tree when it can only fly about 10 feet. Hawks will fly from tree to tree and startle the parrents or young and will snatch them quickly. I've seen this as I work outside in residential areas. NCRC is having a roller fly competition Saturday starting at 8 am and I think five or six guys are flying birds if you would like to go call me at 224-0910. Maybe your the new guy in West Sacto, if so I'll see ya tomorrow. Good luck Bill
