Hi Scott

You got it pretty right on the birds I have Scott, there are a couple of older hold over birds amongst them , one being closer bred to the original imports , Adrian said as a young bird he was excellant and very hot , he has a big scar from jaw to below the crop as a result of a falcon attack , this bird was soooo lucky to be alive , anyway apparently he went stiff after that .

Adrian said the team was overall solid with nice velocity and style but the depth was just lacking hitting on the required 10 ft or less , I found Adrian a nice guy and he came across very honest , Adrian has done so much for Rollers in Australia the guy deserves a medal .
The birds are a start for me and Im learning plenty from them and I thank Adrian for letting me have them and I will do right by the birds and the best I can with them , I believe their breeding is true to paper and they have not been outcrossed and that is at this stage very important to my way of thinking , more so than upfront roll from mixed blood , me thinks :) , so anyway after a saga of planes trains and auto-mobiles to get them home, I did something a lot of guys would think was crazy , I do have some thought out reasons not because I was lazy , I took them home and let them all go in a breeding loft and let them choose thier own mate , then I bred as much as I could out of them for the next few mths (summer here) , and now I have just split them up into Cock and Hen kits and the 42 youngsters into 3 other kit boxes .

So now Im just starting to home the orignals and to train the babys , I have good flying weather from may to sep and want to fly everything during the coming best mths and just learn what I can about flying and also try and pick the eyes out what I have , culling dont bother me at all and I dont wear rose colored glasses , I have learnt over many years to trust my instincts and just let things run along , if its ment to happen it will flow along and shoudnt be a push shit uphill battle .

I will probably have to try and get going a region in my area over the next few yrs if I want to compete , which is the only reason I have them , untill then I,ll probably have to pay the fares of the judges to come to me , but thems the breaks , no matter what I will compete in the world cup inside 3 yrs even if I have to from a portable kit box .

Im well and truely bitten by the roller bug :)

Rod
