I have a 60 watt regular bulb in a flood light hanging over my waterers to keep from freezing. It shows enough light even in the big lofts for the birds to move around at night. Most will mate and raise young all winter if you want them to.When the temps get down in the single digits the waterers will freeze with 60 watt.I use 100 watt then.To much light to suit me.They will feed all night.David

Hi Rauf,
When getting them to start breeding 15 hours of light is plenty.
I have in the past used alot of light to get mine to molt quicker.
for your winter water make you some 15 watt homemade heaters to keep the water from freezing.

Thanks Dave and Steve. I have 100 W bulb under the water container. It is kind of enough light (No night for birds) just wonder since they are not sleeping at night(or may they are), would there be any negative effects?

Steve tell me more about these homemade heaters.

As Steve said to much light will make them moult quicker.Sometimes they will be moulting right when you need to be breeding the most.David
