I seem to see more of the white bar color variation in rollers nowadays. Is anyone familiar with the genetics that produces these? Is it the reduced factor? I also read that Dominant Opal was being used to create white bars, but I though Dominant Opal was a lethal factor??! Cliff

Scott, there are only a handful of white bar Mookies, and one guy has them all..lol Cliff, what you are referring to is Dominant Opal. Recessive Opal usually has a little different expression. Reduced doesn't produce white bars. You can mate Dom Opal together and successfully raise youngsters with no problems. I see it done often in my friends show birds, but it can result in newborn death (lethal). Brian.
