how old do you consider a bird to be mature enough to be considered. as i have birds in my kits that are 8 - 9 mo.old and still just flipping or not how much longer would you fly before culling. or do i start with a different strain as i am getting impation i fly them 4 to 5
times a week for about 20 to 45 minutes a kit any info greatly appreciated. steve

Hey Steve,
I personally give my birds 12 months before culling,, That means if they are doing nothing wrong, they don't get culled, till I start breeding the next season, then if they are not rolling good enough, to earn a pearch, they are out of here..
If you don't like waiting for a good roller, May I suggest you start over with Higins/Reed/Kumro/Jacconte stock.. You will get them coming early and HOT!!If you want to move the roll up, switch to these famillies, as they are tried and true for coming to the roll early.. Mongrel Lofts

great advice Kenny. I to keep them flying at least a year if they aren't disruptive, otherwise I have to cull them. I don't really like the birds taking a year to come in but if they have no other problems and kit well I will give them a yearor even more if I have the room. Joe Urbon
