Cliff,
I can assure you that allot of people lost competition due changing their feed or regimen due to the weather forcast that never happend. As you know the weather folks can tell you someting but the weather has a mind of it's own. if you have a system that is working for you at 90% or better, in my openion, then don't change a thing a few days b4 the fly.
I would like to hear from competition flyers to what they say if you are for sure know that the weather gonna be as expected.

Like you said Jay, changing to beat the weather change that never happens has killed many a kit in competition. I don't change anything unless the expected weather is an extreme, not just a change. By extreme I mean extreme heat or extreme cold. Anything inbetween the birds can handle fine. I won't fly in hard winds so adjusting to that doesn't matter because they aren't coming out of the box. I have adjusted in the last 24 hours before a fly and have had it bite me in the ass more times than do the kit any good. I have learned that if I feel it is utterly important that they get a little more for say possible cold or rainy weather conditions, I will give them only half of the additional my gut instinct wanted me to give them. Seems to work pretty good that way. Same goes for cutting back. You can cut back pretty hard, say to keep the birds down with a super high rising barometer and bluebird skies, but you are always flirting with a DQ if you miss the amount. Remember the best kit that couldn't make the 15 minute minimum will loose every fly to the average team that does. When cutting back I have found it is better to cut down to barley or milo instead of cutting feed amount. Brian.

I allways keep a close eye on the weather and adjust as I feel needed which is usually following my gut feeling, but at the same time I'm thinking ahead on avenues to take in case I screw it up. It is the extreams that will screw you, consistant weather makes it much easier.
