Hello guys, I am just wondering if I can do some thing to slow down the kit. They got into fast flying pattern and flying like homers. I feed mixture(milo, wheat, safflower, millet, barley, there is one more grain I can not recall) 1 1/2 tbsp per bird. If I switch to 1 tbsp they do not get higher and come down early so going with 1 1/2 tbsp for 25+ minutes fly time

Hello Siddiqir Try useing 70%milo and 30% wheat and see what happen. My brids fly fast at time and i put them on mostly milo to get them back right. It slow my bird down to fly just right. The 30% Wheat keep them at a good hight it may work for your family of bird.

Siddiqir,
Like dmitch said, try that. Why are you giving that kind of mix to your birds? try Wheat/Milo mix 50/50 or just Wheat. since the colder weather approaching just give them 3/1 part Wheat/pigeon mix. Try that, but don't expect results the next day, you need to give them four to five days to respond. Good Luck.

Guys, it is pre-mix I did not mix it myself so can not play around with different %. I do have wheat 13% in protein which I was feeding them. 50% wheat and 50% mix. They seem to be flying lower until I change feed to 100% mix. Well feeding 100% mix now got me in fast flying problem.

Siddiqir,
Try the Wheat only and give them more their normal ration. I think your birds require more of feed not protien. Try that and I think you will be happy.

This teaspoon, tablespoon stuff just don't compute to me, never measured it that way. My general rule is 1 cup per 10 birds, if they are flying too long (usually old birds) I slowly cut back until I have them flying 45-60 minutes, then stick with the amount that gives me the desired flying time. If they are flying fast, put them on straight milo, 10% barley would also help, which should be fed before the milo to ensure they are eating it. Then again, you may be under feeding them, the amount may be the issue.
