Cut back on the feed a littl at a time until they are flying right for you. Take away a little of the protein too. First try cutting back on the food to slow them down before you play with the protein. My birds on fly day flew very fast....the day before they looked great...the only thing that I did was feed them a little to much...all I did is add about 5 tbs more to 20 birds. I thought there was going to be some wind so I gave them a little more for energy...well the wind died down at my fly time and they were supercharged.and they looked like racing homers. A little goes a long way. When you cut back...feed the same amount for about 3 days to see the results. before you cut back more.

Put them on straight milo for awhile, that will get them to slow down and give you that much desired butterfly wing action.

Dave,
Like Rick said, put them on a Milo for a short time and see what would happen. But milo alone is not good for the a long period. Maybe you need to add a small amount of peas with the Milo. I have found a good article on a website about proper feeding of kit birds by Rick Schoening. Read it. It is very good and informative. The website is:

Hope this will answer allot of your questions.

Pretty informative article. Since I am thru the molt now I can play with the feed more. I am now feeding a corn milo wheat mix. Corn cuz the birds are still young. They are flying a bit better after a couple of days. I like the follwing around the yard thought . I was feeding 1.5 Tpb and cut them back to 1 Tpb they acted like they were starving after two days I should see results by the weekend. I fly the snot out of them on the weekend. Last weekend I flew seven times. I give them a down day and extra feed on monday. The last time I flew they were pretty good. Had three birds rip thirty footers. there were a bunch of scorable rolls though the turns had much to be desired. They did attempt more turns as the weekend wore on.
thanks guys ---------- redneckhippie*blue dot lofts*
