I like the look of all those birds, very flighty, they look like their ready to roll standing still.

Which family are you having bettor luck with ? The Reeds or the Horners ?

The horners are showing more flipping, tail rides and short rolls very early in age, 2 months of flying. The reeds are a little slower to start, but when they start it is a few flips one week then 5 to 10 foot the next, and so on until now where i have 5 reeds doing 20 to 30 foot fast as hell almost violent.
Time will tell which ones hold up the longest, but i do like the fact that the horners start early. On the other hand i like that the reeds have the speed. A certain reed hen has produced most of my best performers this year, when mated back on her son. In 2011 i will focus on this hen and her offspring and see what i can get.
I raised 34 or 35 horners this year and i will fly the crap out of them as long and hard as possible to see what pairs produced what for me. By this time next year i should be able to see which birds produce the better birds, and i will go from there.

So george to answer your question, i have a fair amount of luck with certain birds in both families. I will focus my efforts on these birds on both sides and hopefully get a better understanding of both families.

George,

I like the look of some of your breeders! Good luck!!

Polarbear, How long have you been flying and breeding both families? I am glad those Reed birds are showing some great potential for you.
