Hey all. I keep reading the posts about color. And to be honest I get lost. I think I know the basic colors and patterns. Basic colors would be blue or red. Basic patterns are barred ,checked,or self. So how do you identify all these other colors and patterns? Is there a place to view pictures or do I just have to guess? Don

Got to www.slobberknockerlofts.com. There is a color chart there with pictures of lots of different colors and patterns. It may help.

Don, there are several ways to learn these things. One way is to visit someone who has a variety of different markings and combinations of such and can describe each for you. The next would be to type "pigeon genetics" into your favorite search engine and you will find a variety of good general genetics websites that have pictures to show what the author is talking about. The final would be to get Axel Sells genetic book. It is very straight-forward and easy to understand.

Thanks. I'll check out the website and try to find the book. As for visiting lofts? I have a very hectic schedule and the nearest loft is at least 60 minutes away. I am trying but a wife and young daughter just don't think it's all that important. But the youngun is learning. Don
