You know George, I have been pondering that thought since you posted it, and I have to say that I honestly don't have one Favorite. I have several that if the lofts were on fire, they would be the first I would grab. Not sure if that makes them my favorites though, more like proven producers which makes them valuable to me over being simply a favorite. Brian.

Man, that still a tough one. Kind of like which one of your kids are you going grab and which one not..heaven forbid that happen to anyone! Well I suppose it would be my 605 black self Reed hen and 1076 Black WF Horner cock, and if my hands weren't too full, a Horner tort cock and hen which are a close second in production. The rest could be replaced locally. You'll probably ask why these two pairs? Well they are the rare "click" pairs that produce consistently and every one of their offspring have made the A-team. Had to think about this one awhile too.Had more time to think about this than if the loft was on fire.We lost our house to a fire 4 years ago and all I got out with was my watch & ring.We were asleep at the time.Life took on a whole new meaning after that. But if I had a chance to save 2 birds it would be a Black George Mason cock I raised last year(as perfect a roller I have ever seen) and a James Turner Qualmond Cock. Why I think you could mate them to a chicken and the chicken would roll.LOL Serious I find that good cocks are Very Hard to come by.Good hens are much easier to find and there are less genes to work with when making an outcross.David S.
