I've seen a couple posts that talk about seeing a hole when their birds are flying. What is meant by the hole? And why is blood in the eye so serious?

Thanks,

Jeff

It's when you can see them mooning you when they roll. It's tough to make out unless you are right under them, then you will see their hole..lol. Naw, its a visual thing that most good rollers will exhibit, but if it doesn't that doesn't mean it is not good. When the spin fast and viewed from the side, you can see what appears to be a hole in the middle of the fuzzy ball shaped circumference, the hole being light, making the bird kind of look like a traditional donut. Pensom preached it so all those who worship his hallowed words eat, sleep and drink the "hole" thing. You'll know it when you see it for it will leave a lasting impression on you.
The bloody eye thing is usually a hemorrage of the vessel wall we assume happens during the spin. Doesn't matter when it happens or why it happens, but that it does happen in some inbred families and every bird that exhibit it should be culled or you will only make more, which I guess some folks enjoy doing.
