I had one bird who from day one in the kit refused to fly. It would just sit on the roof. If I tossed it up it came straight back down. If I took it out to the end of my yard and tossed it up it flew straight back to the loft and sat. After a few weeks of this it seemed to get weaker but did not look poorly or go light. I culled it. Now I have one that has been flying for weeks starting to come down early and cannot be flushed back up. It will just go find another roof to sit on. Does anyone have suggestions on what to treat for? Thanks,
Dan

Try worming birds for internal/external parasites. Give them bath every week and add bath salt to bath water.

Hope that helps

At first read I thought hey, he just found some of those idiot ones with overcooked noggins. But since more are doing it, it is one of two things in my opinion. First would be health, as in there could be something running them down. Often birds that come into the roll are the most likely to turn ill if something is in the kit box. The other would be genetic, being that it is just something in the family of birds you have, a weak commitment and desire to fly, or a lack of reasoning about rolling. Sounds to me like they need a break from flying. Try adding some aureomycin to their water for seven days followed by a good vitamin/pro bios for a few days. Feed them well during this time. I have a few do that and those steps have worked for me. Hopefully they will for you too.
Brian.

Thanks for the input, guys. I had been flying everyday and cut back to every other now. Also, I think maybe the moult was playing into it...there are piles of feathers out there now and not from hawks, thank goodness. I also talked to the folks at Foy's and they sent me Trime/Sulfa which says to use it for 5-7 days. After 24 hours of this med in the water and reduced flying the roof sitters are in the air for the entire time and beginning to roll again.

HighRoller make sure that they are getting thier share of grub also, feel thier crop after the kit eats and that will tell you. I'm assuming that the birds are young. Some you have to keep an eye on until they mature a bit
