My question is this. Can I have some specs on the most common used grains and what you use them for and how your birds react. For example...Milo, wheat, peas, pellets...etc. ect. I basically want to know how you mix for your kits..and how they react to the different types. Do you feed straight wheat..how long...what does it do to your birds..or do you mix 50/50 milo wheat. Also, all the contents of each grain..Carb%..protein% ect. I know that there are other discussions on feeding...but I want to know when and what you feed and what it does to your birds and what grain you use to influence your birds...Also what line of birds you are using.

Thanks,

Paul

Paul for all my youngbird kits I feed 2 parts wheat 1 part Milo and 2/3 part austrian peas and a 1/3 part salfflour, they will stay on this until after the moult with short periods of straight wheat, the straight wheat slows the wing beat in my birds, the mix I use gives them what they need to grow and mature, personally I dont want my young birds rolling to hard untill they mature physicly and mentally and get through the moult

Chuck I'm assuming that you asking "fly wise" I'm really not sure Chuck,it's high in fat which will generally tweek my birds and put them into the clouds, sallflour doesn't seem to have this effect so much though or in the way I use it I just don't see this effect, also I think that it is a grain with a lot of hull bulk and little meat,I'm not sure,I use it for the oil content
