HI. I built a loft for the two pigeons that I got a few days ago. The loft is 2.5' wide by 6' long by 5' tall. It's large enough for me to walk in and turn around and do what ever I need to do in there. I'm wondering how many rollers do you think that I could keep in this size of a loft.
I've also been doing some research on this site and others. It looks like I'm interested in starting a "kit". I'd be starting from scratch. How large of a loft would I need to keep 15 or so birds? And, correct me if I'm wrong, a kit box is something smaller that you would keep your kit in to get them to get used to being together as a kit?? Also, if I wanted to breed my rollers to try and build my kit up, would I need a completely seperate area for this other than the loft?
Thanks,
Jeff

You would need a Loft with fly pen and Kit Box(s)
Size of the loft in depends upon how many birds you would like to keep. Generally 4 square feet of space per pair. So for 5 breeding pairs you would need 20 square feet.
Kit boxes are small you could have 30"x30"x30" and happily keep 20 birds. I go with 3 feet deep, 4 feet high and 3 feet long for 20 birds
There are many varition on loft and kit boxes design. few things to consider are
1) Climate you are in 2) Ventilation 3) easy to clean 4) Wire mesh floor
