Each side is 4 feet high .. 4 feet wide and 32" deep. There are 28 perches, but the bottom ones are pretty close to the floor, so I'll just probably put 21 in.. we'll see. I'll transfer the old birds in there tomm.... never used this type of trap before we'll see how they like it. I know they will be very hungry when I let them out.. lol

Mike,

My daughter came two weeks earlier than expected. Won't be able to do the rounds for MN. I had plans to visit all the mn fliers but the family needs me more. 7 lbs - 20 inches ... Named her Ella. Stop by some times when you are in town. I'll see if I can make it up there in
August as I still have a voucher for a weekend stay up in a resort up there.

Didn't you just redo your old ones? Man, you need to just give me those old ones and build yourself some new ones :)

Co, Congratulations on your new baby girl, I hope mom and baby are fine. Your life has just changed ... big time!!! You will be a great father. I would like to make two more like this one, but that will have to wait. I like the size of this one... it's higher, but narrower that the others. When I make the other ones I'll let you know, they will fit in a pickup truck, but you would have to make two trips.I flew the old birds for the 1st time out of the new one and all trapped but two. When you come up in August , I will have some birds for you.

Roll Down, Along the whole length of the metal roof where it's bent up there are openings about an inch big and the wire door is open most of the time for ventilation and light, it seems to be enough, but if it ain't I'll add some vents on the back wall. Thanks everyone for the nice comments!!

Tony, This the 1st time using them and so far like them a lot. There made out of 1/2 inch Pvc pipe and T's. I figured out how big I wanted to make the trap and made sure it ended with an even amount of T's. Then I took some 1x2''s and made the frame to fit the size of the opening. I then bought a dowel that would fit through the T's and cut it so it was an inch longer than the trap. I drilled a hole a 1/2 inch deep on each side of the trap where the dowel would go. Slid the T's on the dowel and assembled the trap with 4 screws. I used clamps to hold the trap together and drilled pilot holes for the screws.. using the clamps made sure I got a good tight fit. Then I cut the pipe to the length needed. I didn't glue the bobs in the T's... it seemed plenty tight and like they wouldn't come out. I put my old birds in the box and was worried that they might be leery about going through the bobs, but they didn't hesitate at all... but they were good and hungry and would have gone through a wall...lol. I had most of the material laying around the house and only had to buy the dowel. I'm sure you could make them for less than 5 dollars. I was going to buy two traps, but with shipping it would have cost me 65 dollars. This cost about 50 cents because I had the PVC and 1x2's.
