Silly question but say you have a pair thats on youngs thats old enough to wean. Can you move those youngsters then take another pairs younger birds and put them in the bowl?? Can you keep doing this? Or will the original pair eventually stop feeding/sitting on the babies?

Game, If I read your question right.. the pair should be on eggs by time you wean the young, so I don't think it would work out and if they are not on eggs I still wouldn't take the chance..

Its difficult and risky to tranfer young to another nest once they are showing color. What I mean by that is as soon as they are covered with feathers. More ofen than not the parents will pick them to death if you put them in a nest after they are covered with feathers. Also the parents arent stupid either. They know that they just reared a et of young and would know if a younger set was suddenly in their nest. Joe

Yea I agree with, not nessarly being able to just trow a new clutch underum,, however I breed open lofts and I've relized that in this "coloney" type of setup AKA open loft ,, all the adult birds will feed the young,, dosent really matter if they are their squabs or not.. I like it when this happens, as it's a reflectoin of community. Kinda like when I was growing up, my neibhors would feed me if I was hungry,,,, however the other side of that is,,, Woopin that ass if I got outta line,,,, LOL good luck,,,

Ok another question.....is it ok to put 3 babies together for a pair to raise?? Or is that too much work on the parents?

I place mine on the floor when they are around 3 weeks old. Also some pairs struggle with two babies so just monitor your pairs and some can raise 3 no problem. You will have to watch them to see who can and who cant. Joe
