We flew our regionals last week.
I was not going to even fly, lost birds, lack of fly time but put them up anyway. It is fun to have rollers guys come and tell each other stories.. some are even true..lol
With five birds from last Falls kit and left over culls I still ended up getting third...I was happy with that.
Blake Coates pulled a rabbit out of a hat again and will be flying in the finals.

Thanks Northern California roller club for letting me judge your area. I enjoyed visiting the area and birds.

Brad,

Glad you pulled it all together....it sucks when you have losses...I was just telling Scott that this is the first year that my old birds in my team..outnumber my young birds....

It was a pleasure to meet you and you did a great job judging..and no...thank you for judging our area....wish we could have showed you more...but like you said that is roller flying.

I was wondering if you could post a little something about you time judging our region...or a little summary and then I will cut it and post it in our bulletin.

Thanks

Like Paul said, Thank you! Brad. I was glad to meet you and chart the score a few times and I honestly think your judging abilities are nearly perfect. I saw the same thing going on as you quietly spoke while judging. I would say you are conservative and realistic. I dont think you missed a break and did not give into any action lacking five birds rolling. Good job. The best two of the day won. Thats how it is supposed to be. Hopefully Larry and I will be able to score our whole 20 minutes in the fall fly. I have not had hawk problem since the last week after the W/C pre-lems. Not one is sight now for weeks.

THis is teribly fun, in a strage way that is. I do find many stresses involved but the excitement of seeing some real good birds helps to add calm and joy to an otherwise difficult and stressful hobby.LOL Bill C
