Guys, I have good cock with one problem. Not enough fly time, bring down the kit all the time. If flown without him kit fly longer. I am planning to put him in breeding loft. Would this be ok or this will pass over to offspring?
Thank you

Why would you want to breed from a bird like that? It's a cull. Rest it up and try to fly him again, if he doesn't straighten out then pull his head off.

This is a bird that causes more problems than he is worth. If you breed from it, you could very well end up with a whole kit of young birds that do not want to fly. Only breed from a bird that either maintains your current quality or will improve on it.
Other considerations: Has this bird always done this or does he come down early in order to breed and dance around on the loft? Maybe he is too caught up in the breeding mode and would rather land early and chase hens around? FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

I am only flying him so he is still in kit box. I never seen him chasing hens. He comes down early to get fed. He eats more feed as compare to other and very strong bird. He moves around the feed tray too much to pick up the best grains

pull the bird from the kit before.and after about 10 minutes since the kit has been flying throw him up when he comes down with the kit pull him again and feed him seperately. give him some millet as this increases his metabolic rate and keep him on wheat to break him down if after a week it does not work. kill him.

Anonymous, you mentioned that he came down too early to get more feed and that he was a strong bird, stronger than the others. If you breed from him you will probably get more of the same. Cull him!

Before you cull or remove this bird from your Kit Box or loft, try to de-worm him. All the Symptoms you mintioned such as strong appetite tell me that he has worms and getting very close to be infested. There is a product called wormer-gel that you can get form Foy's for $16.95 and you need to flock treat all your birds for two days. You will be surprised of what will come out with the dropings. Some bird's droping will consist of a lump of wiggly round-worms. After a week, you will notice that all your birds want to fly longer and longer. Give it a try before you cull. Please never cull a bird before you really correct the problem that is causing the symptems. You will lose potential good birds if you chose this practice.

If you choose to follow my advise, let me elaborate further on my treatment plan. I mix the wormer-gel with the water for two day supply in a clean milk gallon and keep it refregirated and only give the bird water for a daily consumption. during which I clean the kit box on daily basis because the birds pick thier droppings. After the two days I give them vitamins either mixed with the feed or deluted with their water. Only give them the vitamins for daily consumtion. I do not fly the birds for this four day period. After that I put the birds on antibiotics for seven days. I use Amoxilline which is a very good product. I mix the antibiotics in the clean milk gallon for about a 7 to 10 days supply and keep it refregirated. I give the bids water on daily basis for only the day onsumption. I do fly my birds during this period. The antibiotics will solve any seconday bacterial infections caused by the worms and also will solve any issue may be lurking regarding cocci, canker, e-coli and what have you. After this period is done, then I mix plain yogert with water for a three day consumption and also keep it refregirated and only change their water daily. This will build the good bacteria in the birds gut after the medication and will put the birds in a good condition. You need your birds always to be healthy and conditioned properly to optemize their performance. You will be very happy with the results and so does the birds.
P.S. Make sure to shake the milk gallon before using, this way you make sure that the medication or the vitamins are mixed properly every time you use it.

He's nothing more than a strong lazy cock. Ring his neck unless you want more like him. Never breed out of such birds Scott

You say that he's the only one being lazy and bringing down the kit but you want to breed from him? If it were worms then wouldn't you be having trouble with all the birds? Think about it. Save yourself time and frustration and cull him!
