I currently have four kits ,one of the kits for a unknown reason flys in tight counter clock wise circles it all begin when I started flying them in the afternoon when its windy . It does not matter the altitude but they seem to do it more when there low. If any one has any advice I would appreciate it the kits birds age are 3 months to 3 and a half months old.
I was going to cull the whole team this morning ,then I remembered the preds could handle it for me in november.
I have tried a few things like taking the lead birds out letting five at time go out so they spread out the formed a kit and resumed the tight circles .
I fed them up and didnt fly for four days I even flew them with a team thats 5 months old to see if they follow there pattern ,the 5 months old flew there pattern (tight circles).
THANKS

George, It might not be the lead birds it might be the ones that come from behind to cut the kit off. The lazy ones. Yep wind will start them on a course of bad habits. Try to change the feed amounts and type. Put them on barley for a week and see. If they still fly fast circles put them on straight milo and see if they calm down in about a week. Later Steve

George at that age I don't even pay attention to fly pattern,it means nothing to me,the whole dynamics of the kit changes as the roll progresses anyway, beside when it come's to youngster kits they are only something for birds to fly in until I build a team out of those that are showing promise,if I culled youngster kits due to fly pattern they would all have been dead along time ago.

When should the fig eight pattern manifest itself? My birds are young and sometimes fly a fig eight but mostly in circles. They change directions and fly over in different patterns. ---------- redneckhippie*blue dot lofts*
