Hey all, I just wanted to post this tidbit up. I have spent most of my life working in the woods or hunting, fishing...... Last year I got a tick embedded and three visits to the doctor later, with two courses of antibiotics, I still have a scar that itches! If I had only knew this! To remove a tick that has dug in, simply cover it with full strength dish washing liquid. That sucker (pun intended) will back right out! I'm not sure why and I don't care! It works!

i've also heard that vaseline blocks the littel buggers breathing, and he'll pull out. sorry you're going thru this. is there an ointment or some other drug that will help with this?

Ticks breath thru their butt when inbedded so any thick junk will back them out so does a couple drops of gas.I've had tick fever 4 times nasty nasty stuff as far as itching a benadril (spelling) type cream worked best for me.Wild turkey 101 in large amounts works good to:)Blake

I was in the army and the way we got ticks off, was to pinch and turn counter clock wise.

Light a match, blow it out and while its still hot put it on the tick, he'll back out.

Actually tha vasaline or the soap is the best method. The vets told me the same, that the ticks breath trough the abdomen and whenthey are covered with soap or vasaline they will back out. Twisting them and burning them can still allow the head to stay embedded. Joe
