How many guys are flying birds in the month February? and how often? What part of the state do you live in?

I have flown only once in Feb. aprx 2 weeks ago with letting out only five birds to test. I lost one and got four back. I am locked up until March 15 when I will try again.

How is it working out for you guys? Bill C

Bill, I tried the same with two holdover cock's. I used my binoculars to scan every tree, every roof, any place I thought a B.O.P. might hide. Released the birds and lost one in the first twenty seconds to a cooper hen. I still do not know were she was hiding. I'm in lock down for another two weeks. :(
I'm in southern Ohio on the river.

Just had to pull my kit birds in due to two consecutive coopers attacks. Successful I might add. Won't be letting mine out for at least a few weeks if not more. Here in Co. our BOP don't leave for quite some time.

I started flying I was in lock down since Oct.I'm in PR .got hit in the beginning of Feb a neighbor call to tell me one of my birds drop from the sky and landed on his car.I ask him where is the bird he said the BOP has it only the head came crashing down without the body. I ask him how you know its my bird if you didn't see my band# on its feet he said you the only one that fly birds around here.I said you right about that.so I lock down for a week...now back again flying every other day.must be a young Falcon now hitting on me because he give's up fast after 2 try's. he try again today but went home empty handed Thank God.

Flew 10 holdovers and 8 late August-09 hatches. Cooper hit me for one of the late hatches came down in my yard took it to the ground maybe 10 feet away from me. I scared it off but i never seen the young bird again. Will not let them out again until maybe March 15th or 22nd. I'm in Northern CA.City of Fairfield. What's up Ralph long time!

Hi Bill and list,

as you know I live about 10 miles from you and I've flown 3 or 4 times in Feb, perhaps 10 kits total and I've averaged losing 1 bird each time. I had a falcon once that killed 2 birds on the same fly and the rest where taken by coopers. When the WC is scheduled for the first weekend in April and a guy can;t fly without losing birds since November, it makes it tough to get a kit ready.

I've spoken to Scott about scheduling the WC later in the future and he's agreed to push it back so that most of the rest of us can have a competitive chance to do well but this year does not look good.

Best Regards,

Ive try to fly as often as possible since I got birds to start flying 6 months ago. In 2010, I have been flying maybe once a week(averaged out over the few months), at a parking garage. Some red tail visitations(but no attacks) they fly maybe 15 mins or less, but idk I fly protable so it may be a little different, Im in north central florida.

Hey guys between Bill, Ken, and myself were close to a triangle apart.
I was able to fly at will early Feb, but as of the mid Feb I cant let up anything the skies are full!! I let up 10 and lost 1 Friday. Thing is since Im new to the sport I cant afford to lose them and compete, so if its like this come W.C. I wont fly in fear of loseing them.
