I have seen that in a few youngsters this year for the first time. I once had some croppers and it was fairly common for them to get sour crop, which is spoiling food in their crop due to not fully digesting the contents. I read somewhere where what you are talking about and I too experienced is a bacterial infection of sorts and also read it was contagious, like a respiratory infection. The treatment involved antibiotics to cure it. I didn't treat the two babies that got it, and consequently the both died a few days after noticing it. Brian.

Always food in the crop? Try not feeding them for a couple of days, then see if it emptys out.

YOU HAVE AIR IN THE BIRDS CROP? TAKE A PEN AND PUNCTURE IT AND IT WILL GO DOWN.I JUST DID IT TO ONE OF MINE. MAKE SURE YOU PUNCTURE IT AT THE TOP OF THE CROP.I DON'T THINK THE AIR KILLED THE OTHER BIRDS.IT'S SOMETHING ELSE
