hi
i notised that some of you people have been into roller pigeons for a very long time.
what do you do with all those birds?
i know that a pair of pigeons can raise as much as 12 pigeons, and you have to have about 20 rollers, wich comes to at most about 240 birds a year, lets say that not all make it and its 200. that is still ALOT of birds...corect me if im wrong.
what do you do with all of them?
...what was the bigest number of birds you raised in a year?
do you sell them? for how much?to who?
do you give them away? can i have some?...lol
im only 16 and i have had pigeons for about 4 months, i only have 5 squikers but i would have more if the birds were treted for canker, i only found out that canker egzisted when my babys died:(
....im probably boring everyone with my story...
well i dont have any rollers but i want some BAD. my mom dosent relly want me to have rollers, becuse she is woried that i spend to much time with the birds. the pigeons i have right now dont relly apeal to me, i guees there not the pigeon breeds for me.
...bye bye...

Hello O, Many of us raise rollers for the enjoyment and facination they bring. Seeing a Birmingham Roller performing the roll at such speed that it looks like a "spinning ball" is a thrill that never gets old!
Some of us enjoy the comaraderie of a club where they are flown for competition and others enjoy the quiet solitude of a serene backyard and working with them alone.
Most Breeders raise enough young birds for their needs for the upcoming year and cull some, give some away, sell some, lose some to predators and weather conditions...
I raise several dozen kits each year and have those who buy them.
As far as "mom" is concerned, let her know raising Birmingham Rollers is a great way to build a young mans character, you learn: responsibility, patience, commitment, problem solving, caring for other creatures, you make life-long friends and hang around "good" people...
Before you get some more birds, learn as much as you can about housing, pigeon health, etc. Set some realistic goals and find a local club or hang out here on the discussion pages. All of us are glad to help in the best way we can. FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

hi
what is the bigest number of birds that you raised in a year.?
well my mom likes the birds i have now espatialy she likes my old duch capuchine, but theres a problem with this pair the coc has fethers on his legs and all his ofspring get them too.
i olso have 3 english trumpeters a pair and an extra coc.
i have 3 white homers one pair and an extra hen.
and two red modena cocs.
so you see my loft is not that organized 2 cocs still have no mates. i was trieng to find some hens for my modenas but a 16 year old "girl" cant relly get far. nad i became desapointed in the breeds i got they were just not for me.
so i just want to get rid of all the difrent breds and gget only one. and i hape it will be rollers.
my mom she dosent relly see how grait rollers are she just dosent understand. but i still hope i can get her to by me some rollers or to let me ask my uncle if i can by or get his rollers for free. my uncle purchesed them to be foster parents for some uzbek pigeons and some othere breeds i dont relly know. but now his loft is full of all kinds of pigeons even his english trumpeters that he alwayes wants to get rid of but stil didnt. he has alot of birds and thats not good.
i still hope i can nag my mom into leting me get some rollers.
