--- I just moved all my kit birds from the breeding lofts to their kit boxes. I have been locked down for 2 months and will start flying tomm..... wish me luck!!! lol. I have 4 breeding compartments and after breeding season I remove the nest boxes and put in extra perches. That way when I have to lock down the kit birds are put into 2 of the breeding sections instead of having them locked up in small kit boxes. I start breeding the 1st of march, so will be moving everything back into the lofts. Next week I'll start to turn on the lights early in the morning to motivate them. I thought I would post my nest bowls that I use. They fit nicely in the corners , so more room in the boxes. I've been using this type for over 30 years... some of them are 20 years old and only take a few seconds to clean and your ready for a new nest. I build the nest myself or otherwise the birds build condo's...lol I use pine needles in the bottom and add hay on top.. it makes a real nice nest. I'll try to post the pics in the next post..

The left one looks like a breeding box and the second explains how the nest surrounds are made I think!

Paul, The 1st one is a close up of the breeding compartment with 2 "nest bowls" in the corners. Notice how they take up less room than a regular nest bowl would. The second is of the " nest bowl" itself. the birds seem to really like them, I think they feel more secure...lol.
