Simple inquiry about an event goes South due to personal differences and opinions so the personal attacks continue. Great for the hobby- not!

I got to go!! Joe Mitchell on that day had some of the best spinning birds I have seen...and in a kit of 30-45 birds the most hot in one group I have ever seen. He has a line from South Carolina plus his Patterson Fireballs and Carolina Blues (J.L. Smith from Patterson). Lots of 2009 birds, so you guys better watch out in 2010. Around 40 showed up..from Richmond VA, Flordia, and all points in between. I am terrible with names and will forget many..O.J. Hood; J.B.; Charlie Stack; Larry Williams; Cliff Ball; EMMA..my favorite American Staffordshire Terrier; we had a barbecued pig (Joe put it on at 12:01 A.M.in the dark); Charlie Stack deep fired the fish, and brought the venison while his Ms. Stack brought the sea-food salad; Zeus had a BIG hand in making the pig and a dutch oven of beans (he is from P.R. via the Bronx). Somebody brought in some homemade wine...and we celebrated Joe Mitchell's 36th birthday. I missed a lot..somebody else can fill in the blanks and names..Excellent time..and boy..the birds..Joe flew them just before I left to come home, to keep it in my mind. Never have I seen the likes of them before. Bruce

George, the economy is in the pits, but these folks just pulled together and had 'old fashioned roller hobby fellowship'. No selling, no politics, no agendas; just fun. The birds sure did their end of the job.

Longroller I am confused here I was there also and had a great time got to msee folkes that I haven't seen insome time and all was great. But while we were there I got to see 3 kits relesed all three had great height, kitted real good, Loft management was great, except you and I must have seen diffrent birds fly. Joe stated at the begining that the birds were young and only been together for a little time. All I saw them do was a few flips and absolulely no spins at all. We either were looking at difrent birds or it is the lack of my knowledge. I know I have only been in this sport for a few years but I belive I can tell the diffrence in a spinn and a flip.

Thanks Steve

smeyer02...greetings..did you stay until the end. He put up his A team for me on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning..Sat afternoon he put them up after many had left but they still put on a show...granted is was quite good but Sunday and Monday were exceptional. Sorry you missed it. Check with those others that saw them function. I thought the same watching the younger kits..but his A team was very good.

Bruce,
It was good to see you again, at the North Carolina Roler Jamboree. I'm glad you had a good time, as I did. You don't have to defend Joe's birds. They did the talking for him by winning the region last year in a very tuff region. That says it all. You know how it goes on the internet. As soon as we call something as white, guaranteed somebody is going to say it was black! LOL! We all fly our birds on days when they look like crap and we all have different perspectives......Good luck with your birds, my friend.

How did I know that you were going tro make a comment like that Cliff. We all know that Joes birds are good no one was questioning that. If you had taken as much time in reading just what Bruce had stated in his first comment as you did to defend Joe's birds you would have seen why I said what I did. Again ON SATURDAY HIS BIRDS DID NOT PREFORM. How would I know how they did on anyother day? Just like most of our birds one day they could have won it all the next they would not do well at all. You need to take a deep breath and relax and stop being defensive when a negtive comment is made.

If I am not mistaken, it was you who said that you were confused. Maybe you missed the part in my post where I said "we all have different perspectives"...we may see different birds.....on different days..... I was simply trying to help you be less confused. I just think we all have to be very careful saying anything negative about another man's birds....especially on a public forum. I doubt anyone read your post and thought, "Joe must have some really good birds". But, if you wish to make negative comments, that is your choice.

Don't worry about it. But "DO" speak positive wherever possible. I just try to practice, "If you can't say something nice about someone......... or someone's birds......."
If we misunderstood each other, I apologize for my part in it. And thanks for the personal observation. Maybe I do make mountains out of molehills sometimes. I'll have to think about that.....
