Jon Farr,

Thanks for the private email and the respect you showed about talking about Mort birds and not on an open forum. Like I replied..I was well aware of what I was getting myself into...LOL.

No worries about throwing a wet blanket over my fire...like I said before...I could get 100 birds from mort and 100 birds from Tony and may not get the same cocks from each side that I got. The cool thing is..although the birds were bred from each breeder...I flew out the birds and picked what I like..they developed in my loft...the Ruby cock was hatched in my loft and the Mort cock was a young bird...

I knew what I had and what Mort has..but I too respect the fancier on an open forum...that is why I never brought it up... But it just goes to show you...all you need is one or two EXCELLENT pigeons to lay the foundation then you can build the house...regardless of the pedigree or the fancy name attached!!

Thanks Ron for you comments..you too Thom

Pau,
Good post from the heart, my friend. That honesty is one of the things we all love and respect about you. Having walked through "the valley of the shadow of death", myself, I know what it is like to have one's life turn up-sid-down. And yet, we are still standing here today...maybe a few scars, emotionally and physically...but still standing. Let's make 2010 the best yet! Thank you for sharing.

Paul,

Some of the younger guys think we are crazy.
Let LIFE throw them some HARD curve balls, and
then they may have a small taste of bad times we
went & are going through.

I fully understand where your coming from,
I am only half way back up the hill, and hope
and pray I don't slide back down.

Your the MAN!
Pigeon people are the best. When it was time for me to return to pigeons, it only took one Phone call to my new best friend Myron Berger. And the list of names just started ROLLING off. My first birds were a (gift) from Mike D. in the spokane valley. Always graitful.
But what makes all the people in this hobby/sport better. One call to Longroller AKA Bruce in Prosser and i felt like we have been friends for thirty years, And he is comming up with some birds. It's the best world.

Good luck. happy new year

I don't know what is the issue with the Morts! The Mort sqeek hen I got from you 4 years ago turned out to be the best hen and excellent producer. What is the issue?

I got to meet Paul out in Sacramento, and sure he is one of the best in my book. Keep up the good work Paul.

Hey Pirate Paul,

Great post, I really enjoyed reading it.

I especially liked that there were not as many................., and you even threw in a couple commas, way to go! LOL.

Paul, you are one of the good guys in our sport, don't ever change.

Paul... great assessment regarding your hard work & determination.

You stated:

====> "That is why I battle so much to some of the older fliers and say some things can be done because I have proven it in the past and the present."

Hmm... that shows you are a freethinker.

Freethinkers are those who are willing to use their minds without prejudice and without fearing to understand things that clash with their own customs, privileges, or beliefs. Freethinking will allow room for error during our routine of feeding, breeding and flying these magnificent acrobats of the air. Perfection should be the goal but disappointments can occur along the way. I know because I've experienced many.

....well anyway

We all want the very best best birds in the world, however, it's a tough road to get there.

Happy New Years Paul...

Hey old buddy,
Glad to see that things worked out for ya.. When we used to chat thru emails, I knew you were a stand up guy.. The type I call friends.

Hope everything is going well for you this new year, and many more happy memories to come. I think about ya at times, and heck, even saved some of our emails from the past.. Guess as a remainder to myself..haha

Take care friend.

P.S...did you get remarried?..i think I read somewhere above that you are having a little one on the way?..if so, congrats.
