Hi Joe, Moderators are not required nor do they have to justify their decision to edit or modify a post. They use their best judgment to protect the integrity of the forum as they understand it.
But in general, the post that was moderated was only going to open an ugly old wound between two persons with no way of reconciliation. The Moderator knew it and was their to head it off.
