This is what my son used to heat his reptiles, do you think it would be safe to use in the loft for water de-icer?

John, i think it would depend if it can get wet. if the fountain leaks or the birds spill some water on it, you don't want to find out it killed a bird (electrocution) or it burned out and the water froze anyway.

hay john,
i would be afraid to use that if it was me i use a 15 watt bulb and use red bricks and lay around the bulb a club member did and seem to work for him
