who knows the magic touch, who has gotted right, who is the better roller man. it seems that everybody is looking for that fast edge. to get ahead of of rest but if there were and easy answer everyone would be winnig flights and as we have seen those that win on a constant level are those that have studied these questions. and belive me its like those seeking god. and following the blind. listening to those that minght mislead you into beliving that if you get rid of all your birds and start with these blood lines you would surely have a chance to be at a top level. but as we know what works for someone else those not work for everyone else. so when we hear that someones birds are awsome and kicking butt we want some and are willing to pay a price or try anything to get that blood in our loft.
so in short to all newcomers learn as much abot your birds
study thier habits their temperment and their abilities in the air. then through experience and trial and error you will be among the top elite. but as we all know you just cant pick any bird and start a family. try to visit as many lofts as you can see and handle their best ask as many questions as you can put yourself in their hands as their
puple or become a member of your local club.but in the end their is no magic touch their are no secrets just the mere
fact that those who try and work at it will succeed. for my part i will saythat the most important thing about our hobie is observation and keen understanding of our birds and thanks to web pages like this those seeking knowledge can continue in thier ever seeking knowledge may succeed in
the development of their own birds.

Dear anon I think some of the points you make are correct there is no fast way to the top it takes years of hardwork.

Many fanciers think that if they aquire some birds from a person thats having success in competitions that they will
quickly rise to the top of the roller world.

They fail to understand that it takes a lot of other things to put together good teams (kits).

After years of racing thoroughbreds against the best in the world (Bob Baffert ,Wayne Lukas,Bobby Frankel,)and winning our fair share of races. I learned that first you need good stock ,then a lot of common sense, and a good understanding, and a very keen eye, which unfortunately a lot of people dont have.

Mr. Lukas once told me "if you have to rely on luck you will lose most of the time " I will never forget it.

P.S. Its O.K. to put your name on these post.
