I have a question that I have been trying to find out. How many birds are considered over crowding. I have heard One cubic foot per bird in a loft. Is this true? For example my breeding loft is 4ft wide buy 8ft long by 5ft tall. How many birds could I keep in this loft. I keep the loft clean. Right now I have 16 nesting boxes with 2 boxes for each pair. I have fourteen birds (or 7 pair) with one set of nesting boxes free. I have room on the back wall for 8 more boxes if needed. I do fly my breeders for about 20 mins in the morning before work and call them in with a whistle and they all trap. So they get fresh air sun and exercise. Every fifth day they are locked up for 2 days while I am at work. So with this information how many breeding pairs could I have in my loft. Can anyone help with this question.
