Jerry, without knowing too much about your birds, I would offer the following: if they are kitting well, flown on a regular basis (I like once a day) for about 30 minutes, healthy and of good stock, you should see the roll developing on an ongoing basis for upto 8 months to a year.
You will need to create the best training system you can that will pull from the birds what is there already. Some breeders experiment with feed such as wheat to "breakdown" the bird and this has been shown to produce more performance.
But this is an art/science and you have to be careful. I have seen what are good rollers hit after such conditioning. I have also seen them get better, i.e. become more frequent, deeper, concert performance...
A good rolling family will not have to be "tricked" to roll however.
Any training system will NOT add to the roller what is not there already. FLY ON! Tony Chavarria
