Mario from Texas is asking if there is a way to keep his water feeders from freezing over night. He does not want to run extension cords...Any ideas for him?

Sounds good. Mario was mentioning that someone suggested putting "glycerin" in the water. Would there be any detrimental health risks? Any thoughts?

Glycerin will freeze. It freezes into a gummy substance. Pure glycerin is an alcohol. I would not give it to my birds. I don't know if it would actually harm them, but I would not chance it.

I would give them fresh water everyday. It will take a few hours to freeze the water and they will have time to get thier fill. I would do this until it warms up enough not to freeze. I would also question my reluctance not to run power to my kit box even if it is temporary.

I too have two sets of water bottles that I cycle out every day, frozen comes in, and fresh goes out every day.
