hello i have the mosic cock bird here in AZ. ive bred some good young from him. he gos back to Rod Fomby, Richard Apodaca , fathers side ,mothers side is Homer Coderre, and Sal Estrada .The bird was bred and flown by Manual Moreno. This bird is rare because it is split down the middle blue bar an one side and red bar on the other side..

hello,
thanks to JOSE aka 155 for taking the pics of my mosiac cock bird. the bird was bred and flown by Manual Moreno. the bird is down from some good stock.. 2 generations back is Rod Fomby WCS 02-255 BLACK cock, Richard Apodaca LRPC-03-935 ALMOND hen, top side. botom side is Homer Coderre NBRC-94-695 red bar self cock, and Sal Estrada LPRC-96-13 ash red white flight. ive bred some good ones from him . hes a sweet looking bird. its like looking at 2 diffrent birds. anyway just thought you guys would like to know his history. he has bred one mosiac so far.. he lives in my loft in mesa arizona for the rest of his life...

I am sure everyone is aware that it is something you can't breed for.

I have bred several mosaics over the years and as Nick stated they are not something you can try to reproduce. They are a genetic freak. The question I did not hear anybody ask is does the bird roll or is it stocked because it looks cool. Joe

Joe, I posted that question briefly and deleted it, didn't want to insult Jose.

Well joe we assumed that if he stocked the bird it was with good reason but that doesnt take away the beauty of these birds i would love to have to give to my niece she loves pretty birds

I apologize to 155. I dont want to take anything away from this bird. I have seen several birds very similar to this bird over the years and to be honest with you they were all in the stock lofts of somebody and I never asked that question to their owners.
I have stocked 1 of the 6 mosaics that I have bred but believe me when I say that he truely deserved it. All of the mosaics that I have bred over the years were blacks with a large patch of rec red or a rec red with a patch of rec yellow . Nothing as cool as that bird.
There is nothing wrong with keeping a bird around because it is cool or if you just like its looks as long as you dont loose sight of what the true birmingham roller is. that being said, 155 please accept my apology and enjoy that bird. Joe

Myself I would put that bird up regardless of what it did.. sure it would be in the foster loft if it wasn't right.. but it is worth keeping around as a oddity.
