If it is canker (and the description sounds like it is), it can be fatal. You need to start treatment right away with one of the canker medications that are readily available from all pigeon supply places. I doubt you have time to wait for an order to arrive, so you can check your local pet stores in the fish section for a product that contains metronidazole (Fish Zole is one brand name). It's likely the parents need to be treated also.
