Hey how many sets can a hen lay before you guys take the pair apart! How long after can you put the hen with a new mate?

kopetsa,

I've actually had a hen lay up to 15 rounds in a season with 3 different cocks utilizing foster feeders. If a hen is regular, she will lay a clutch of eggs every 10-12 days apart. A couple of days of separation between mates should be more than enough time to get her going again.

I have a problem with one of my female...she would lay eggs but she begin to be a handy-cap hen for a week...now she is retire for a month because after laying eggs so much, she can barely fly now...my other hen are excellent producer..it only takes my hen 1 weeks then they are pair with other male again...my guess is... they want sex and babies...LOL

In the past I have not liked going over 4 rounds with a hen, but thats just me. Maybe you can breed more but I don't like too. Thats about 1/3 of the year. Thats plenty on your hens.
