How many of you guys do preventive medicating? I have talked to alot of people in the roller pigeon community about medicating. I have noticed that a majority of the older pigeon breeders dont believe in preventive medicating. What do you and what do you use?

Before breeding I vacinate for PMV and worm, followed by ProPios then vitamins. Then after the eggs are laid I treat with 4'n'1 followed by ProBios and vitamins again. After that its feed, water and plenty of grit w/oystershell.

Almost nothing PRE- always looking for mites, green pops, anlways looking for why then treat. This seems to be working very good todate.

I don't mix in new birds for a while, watch them really close. Before letting them in.

Im not an Old Timer by any means but, I was taught by alot of them in my time. I DON'T believe in the use of any UNNESSARY meds. The usual, worming once a yr.,maybe a mite power bath,if nessary, and NEW birds are put in my own quarentine station for a period of time, thats about it. WEAK birds or SICK ones are QUICKLY a non-factor in my loft. Only the SRONG servive.
