HOW MANY THINK THAT WE ALL SHOULD LOCK DOWN OUR BIRDS @ TIME OF BOP SEASON MAYBE (BOP) WOULD GO SOMEWERE ELSE TO FEED AND NOT OUR PRECIOUS BIRDS MAYBE INSTEAD OF FEEDING ON OUR BIRDS IT WOULD EAT COMMIES.BUT SERIOUSLY I THINK WE SHOULD ALL LOCK DOWN ON BOP SEASON. -------- 454 TRIPLE "G" LOFT

Gabe, I think it depends in the area you live in, there is guys on this list that never get hit regardless of time of year! I in the other hand have to lock them in. Good post Gabe. ---------- Sal Ortiz

In the city of Compton, California there isn't a such thing as a "HAWK" season! The Peregrines patrol 365 days a year here. It's a lucky fly day every time you fly without an attack! It's gonna be tough this year.

454... I live in Ohio. Iam right in the MIGRATION PATH. The birds come up from the south and follow the Lake Erie shore line EAST up thru Pennsylvania to Canada Nov thru March. Its the migratory BOP that cause MOST of my problems. I may get LUCKY and fly my birds one day with no attacks but,the next time I fly them I may get massacred. So,I have to LOCKDOWN my birds thru this period. The rest of the time I have very little problems with the BOP. It all boils down to WHAT part of the country you live in. ---------- Fly High and Roll On Paul

Saturday I tested the air and got 2 Coopers and a Red Tail hawk. I have 5 birds that are BOP trained, you open the door about 4:00 PM and they sky out, come back in at dark or in the AM, yes I free feed them so they can fly a long time. These I fly twice a week. They fly fast and out run the Coopers
Saturday I added a couple birds to keep them down, the two Coopers made chase for about 5 runs and then the Red Tail came. The Red Tail made one hit but the bird got away, the Coopers got half the tail feathers of one bird. All birds came in at dark didn’t loose any.
I will pull out the test birds and check the air next month.
