-Hi List, I'm going to fly a 20 bird young bird kit this fall fly. Just wondering what you all are going to fly? 11 or 20 or both? young or old or mixed? My kit will be a mix of four different families.Campbell's, Weins, Mee's, Hendesons They seem to fly fine together and break fair together for young birds. Just a reminder, I had to get my NBRC membership in as it was going to expire on 8-1-07 as you need to be up on your membership to fly! Take care all, And best of luck in the fall fly!!!--------- Tapp

Tapp,
I am going to enter both 11 and 20 bird teams. My birds will be mixed ages(2007 birds and up to 5 years old). All of them will be of the same conglomeration of poop that I always fly.

Tapp, I didn't get breeders together until real late March this year and didn't hatch but twenty eight in the first two rounds. So we will be going with young birds that are starting to look good. I'm only going to play with the eleven bird team this fall and expand from there. I got twenty ready to go out for the first time by the end of the week. I had broke the breeders up so that taking care of everything would be easy on the neighbor girl and my wife while I went through surgery. As soon as I get these guys on the wing, Bob Munson is bringing me a round of his late hatch youngsters to fly. I put a dozen pair together for one more round this past Friday, a lot of my bronze and color stuff in there mated to some of my best stock plus three pair for pure hard core spin. Truth be told, I breed that way with the color stuff and am probably the hardest culler that you ever saw. I get darn right nasty when a bird isn't doing what it is suppose to. But this is the first summer I've been raptor free for this long, knock on wood. Bed time and I have to get up early in the morning and take three cats to the Illinois Valley Animal Rescue. I caught three of them in live traps tonight. I had to edit that to make Tony happy. Nice kitties know better than to enter the inner sanctum of my yard, ie where my loft is. You have to know my loft, double floored, steel door, double walled, you could walk an elephant on the floor and it would support it. It is animal and vermin proof but I still don't allow cats or coons in my inner sanctum. They get live trapped and relocated. Later, Gregg.

20 and 20. We don't usually fly the 11 bird here. One kit will be whatever is spinning the best. The other will be those that didn't make the first kit.

Kim,
My experience is that young birds do not have time to really get in synch to score well in the 20-bird. So I use them in the 11-bird where they can do their thing. Of course in the early years of competing, you use what you have! Once you start developing a holdover kit of yearlings and older, the simultaneous performance starts kicking in and they can score well in the 20-bird. Looking forward ot seeing you at the convention! Cliff
