What causes bird to only fly a few minutes and land with thier beaks open gasping for air.

Well,

something got to them..drastic temp changes will do that...my birds were panting today....they will get used to it...but if only a couple birds are panting....check them for canker...especially if they are in shape and panting....anyway...they should be fine..

Could be a hen who is egging....if not the bird is suffering from a respitory ailment and needs some time off and meds.

My yb`s were panting the other day after their first flight. I know they are just building their little bodies. In older birds I look at the length of time they pant. If it is just a few minutes no big deal. If they keep on longer than normal, I will hit em with a little 4n1.

I have some bayberry extract. It is supposed to help out the upper respiratory tract. Anyone ever use it?
