Just a question I have pondered for a few years. How long (years) do you fly your kits (same birds)? Jerry

You fly the birds for as long as those birds perform. It is not unusual to have 6yr old birds flying in an old bird kit even older. Its a question of when the birds get tired of rolling to pull um out or when that bird(birds) effect the others in the kit thats flying.Hope that helps you.

It is not uncommon that many will have birds 4 and 5 years old in thier competition kits and sometime older. Look at Brian's post; that about covers it all.

Hey Jerry,

Don't have a good answer to your question but do have a question :)

What part of Missouri are you in?

Thanks!

Yup! I am north of Springfield as well. Out between Fellows and McDaniel lakes. Just got our rollers about a month ago and plan to start breeding them soon.

Nick,
There is a small club in the area (not sure of name) that flys once a month. I have been to a meeting and all are wonderful guys, most are long time flyers, and a hall of famer included. Jerry

I kep in contact with a few of the flyers. I have been invited to their meeting and fly, but because this was only my second breeding season, I had nothing to fly (due to cat getting into kit box last fall killing all but 4). I do plan on flying with them this year, as I have this years kit that are working decent. Jerry
