Help me guys i need some opinions. This is what happened. 4 days ago one of my breeding pairs laid 2 eggs. I fostered those eggs and now they lay two more. That's 4 days apart. Is this possible? Could it be that it's possible or do you guys think they're both females. I had a feeling they were females to begin with. Can or do females lay eggs without first being fertilized? Thanks guys!

It was like 8 years back so im not sure but i think 3 hatch at one time and one the other time and there were also times when none had hatch because there were to many eggs, i didn't really like it thats why i was changing her mate around to see what will happen good luck on them eggs

things happen. i use to have a pair that was hen, can't really tell becasue one hen act like a male, no difference, but if you realize that there are 4 eggs. they need to be seperate or use for foster because it's not fertilize

Definitely sounds like two hens got mixed up! I wish my pairs could do that, sure would help fill up empty kit boxes. :)

Hey Rusky,
Careful trolling for girlfreinds on here. You may find yourself getting kicked in the nuts and even if it's only the computor doing the kicking it may hurt.

females can lay eggs even if they are not fertile I've had it happen a few times, kinda gets annoying after waiting for 4 months then crackin that shell open to see if anything is in it just to discover a that there is not a pigeon inside of it, but hey it makes good breakfast..

Hey Parlor,
What is taking 4 months? Your eggs to hatch?

I hope your kidding about eating old eggs! Use a small flash light at night after about 7-10 days and you can see whether their fertile or not. Saves some time!
