I have a crow that keeps trying to get my pigeons. For the past two days there has been a crow that follows my kit around at first I thought it was cool he will keep the hawks away. But earlier he almost got one. Dose any one know why he is doing this? <><

Crows will kill small birds and eat them. I've seen crows kill many of the resident birds, and especially young that are still in the nest. During Springtime when I've got squeakers in the nest, the crows will even pace back and forth on top of my loft, looking for a chance to get in and eat some meat. For some reason my recessive red birds are the ones that trigger the crow attacks in the air. Never had them kill one but they definitely attack. Usually some missing feathers on my birds is about it. Ravens are a different story though. Ravens will kill pigeons on occasion. A friend of mine has lost several birds to ravens.
