Hey folks,
I frequently pull and hold eggs for fostering purposes. I've successfully held them for 5 days. I've heard that some guys put the eggs in the fridge for up to 10 days? Have any of you tried this with real life success? As far as I know after about 8 days the % goes down for a successful hatching. Talk to me!

Al if I hold them it is because I have to , they either hatch or they don't.
I try not to hold them for more than a fewer days , never tracked how long myself.

Big Al.I have only held pigeon eggs for 7 days.I have held Quail eggs and chicken eggs for up to 14 days.Had the same hatchability rate as any others. This was in incubators tho.I just had a chicken hatch out last week that had stole her nest. She had 15 eggs and hatched them all.David

Big Al is a real Master at fostering. He can pump out alot of birds from a single pair real quick. I know because I spend alot of time at his house with his wonderful family, and the great family of rollers that he has developed.
