I seldom see Tim Decker's name mentioned or anything about his rollers yet I see from the W/C top 10 report in the Bulletin that he has been in the top 10 5 times,George Mason 5 times,Rick Mee 6 times and Monty Neibel 6 times.Does anyone know what Tim Decker is flying? David

David, Tim is a good friend of mine and lives but a few miles away. Tim is working with a new family of rollers he calls 4-N-1 which is a culmination of various families he has had success with in the past. Tim is a roller flyer and is one of those guys that can fly any family, together or separate, and do very well. He suffered a set back two years ago while hosting the Cal Classic. Someone sent in birds with Circovirus and it spread like wildfire, hitting many of his own birds. Then when the Newcastle virus hit this area, he evaced many of his best stock birds to a safer zone. Unfortunately some punk ass kid jumped the fence of the house they were being kept and and let all of the pigeons out. He only got but a few back.

Brian. What a bummer.I almost feel like I know Mason,Mee & Neibel from hearing about them.Seems like Tim has been around for quite some time yet I never hear anything about him.I am sure he will make a comeback.I hope anyway.I would like to see him win the W/C some year.It would take some hard work to be in the top 10 that many times.I guess Mee or Mason hasn't won 1st yet either.I see Rick Mee is second for points.David

Iv'e also known Tim for at least 25 years or so, and he has always been a good roller man and a good person also. I believe that Tim, unlike many others could lose all of his birds, not have access to some of the pre-made stocks, and would be able to rebuild a stock of his own that would kick.

Richard what are pre-made stocks ?
I don't think that there are any birds out there that will instantly put you on the top.
Maybe possible if someone with an established loft up and died, even then it would take years to figure out what is what.
I agree though Tim is a good guy and he has stayed here a few time's.
Scott

No I dont mean it that way. I mean a stock that has already been developed by someone else. Most people flying, are flying rollers that were developed by someone else. The challenge is then to improve or to hold them at the same level as when you got them. Tim could develop his own stock, I feel, and still be a top competiter.
